I’ve had a test, but I haven’t received the results yet. What should I do?
  1. Check the Turnaround Time: Verify the standard processing time for your specific test in the “List of Tests” section.
  2. Confirm Payment and Delivery: Ensure that the test has been paid in full and the biological sample has been successfully delivered to our lab. Please note: Results are only released once full payment is confirmed.
  3. Check Your Email: Double-check the email address you provided during sample collection. Don’t forget to look in your “Spam” or “Promotions” folders, as automated reports can sometimes be filtered there.

What types of biological samples are suitable for genetic testing?

While venous blood is the preferred specimen for most genetic analyses, a buccal swab (cells from the inner cheek) is also suitable for the majority of our tests. Additionally, our laboratory is equipped to process a wide range of other biological materials, including: Amniotic fluid (Prenatal diagnostics), Chorionic villi (CVS), Paraffin blocks (Biopsy/Tissue samples), Saliva, Dry blood spots (DBS), and other specialized samples.

To ensure sample integrity and the highest level of accuracy, we strongly recommend that a qualified healthcare professional perform all collections.

How will I receive my invoice?

Once your biological sample has been received and registered at our laboratory, we will issue an electronic invoice to the email address you provided.

Important details:

  • Timeline: Your invoice will typically be sent within one week of our lab receiving the sample.
  • Check your folders: If you don’t see the email in your Inbox, please check your “Spam” or “Promotions” folders, as automated billing may be filtered there.
  • Payment Requirement: Please remember that laboratory test begins only after the invoice has been paid in full.

How can I track the delivery of my biological sample?

If you have sent your sample to our laboratory in Lviv, please follow these guidelines to track its status:

  1. Delivery Timeframe: Depending on your location within Ukraine, the delivery of biological samples usually takes 1–3 business days.
  2. Track via Courier: Samples are typically sent via a courier service (such as Nova Poshta). Use the tracking number (TTN) provided at the time of dispatch to monitor your parcel’s progress on the courier’s official website or app.
  3. Lab Confirmation & Invoice: Once your sample arrives at Leogen, it is processed immediately by our laboratory staff. After your order is registered by our accounts department, we will send an electronic invoice to your email.

Note: Receiving the invoice is the best confirmation that your sample has been successfully delivered and registered in our system.

Is sample integrity maintained during delivery?

For the majority of genetic tests, delivery within 3 business days does not affect the quality or integrity of the sample.

Important Exception: Blood for Cell Culture Special requirements apply to samples intended for cell culture:

  • Collection Schedule: Samples must be collected between Monday and Thursday.
  • Tube Type: Use a sterile tube containing Lithium Heparin (identified by a green cap).
  • Delivery Window: The maximum delivery time is 24–48 hours.

Please note: If the 48-hour delivery window is exceeded, the sample will be considered unsuitable for analysis, and a recollection may be required.

How do I undergo a genetic test?

To ensure the most accurate results and a seamless experience, please follow these steps:

  1. Professional Consultation

Before ordering any genetic test, we strongly recommend a consultation with a clinical geneticist. This ensures the correct test is prescribed and that you understand the diagnostic process.

  1. Sample Collection Options
  • At our Center (Lviv, 5 Zygzag St.): Our medical staff will ensure the sample is collected according to international standards.
    • Note: Genetic testing generally does not require fasting or the suspension of medications.
  • Remote Collection: If you cannot visit us or a partner location, you may send a sample (e.g., blood) directly to our laboratory via courier.
  1. Shipping Your Sample

To maintain sample integrity, please call us in advance to clarify the specific collection requirements for your test. When shipping, include the following patient details:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Email Address & Telephone Number
  • Name of the test or genetic panel

  • Security: Ensure the collection tube is hermetically sealed.
  • Protection: Place the sample in a separate protective bag or container from the test request form to prevent contamination.
